School Nurse, SACHS

Position Summary
The School Nurse under the supervision of Principal shall implement a comprehensive program of health services for campus, provide health services to students and promote health education and preventive health practices.

Essential Functions

Job Duties

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Knowledge of health appraisal to identify student health defects;
-Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
-Ability to implement policies and procedures;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

Required Education

Required Work Experience
Two (2) years nursing experience, preferably in community health

Preferred Qualifications

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
-Valid registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners;
-Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening;
-CPR Certified
