Description: Purdue University's White Lodging- J.W. Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) is inviting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Purdue University is seeking to attract exceptional candidates to conduct high-quality and impactful research, and to teach courses in hospitality and tourism management, accounting, finance, data analytics, and/or service innovations at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly and non-scholarly endeavors, such as advising students, pursuing external funding, and engaging in department, college, and university service committees and activities.



Qualifications: Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in discovery, teaching, and service to the discipline, the School of HTM, the College of Health and Human Sciences, and Purdue University. A Ph.D. in Hospitality and Tourism Management or a related discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, Economics, etc.) from an accredited institution is required. ABD is acceptable provided the degree is conferred by the start of the appointment. Candidates must have a publication record in top-tier HTM academic journals, an active program of research, and evidence of teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Two years of industry experience is desired but not required.



The School: Founded in 1887, the White Lodging-J.W. Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) is one of the nation's oldest hospitality management programs. In 2021, the School was named in honor of White Lodging's founder and CEO, Bruce White, and his family for their longstanding financial and in-kind support of Purdue University. Its Extension service delivers educational programs, applied research, and resources to all 92 Indiana counties, with a focus on issues related to food, family, money, and health.
