Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

Job Summary:
The University of Colorado, Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a full time Advanced Practice Provider to work within the University of Colorado Health System at the Anschutz Medical Campus. The position is expected to assist with the evaluation and management of patients with cancer and certain benign neoplasms, including breast, prostate and general radiation oncology clinical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Care for patients with variety of cancer types with an emphasis on palliative care.
- New inpatient and outpatient consultations in collaboration with the attending physician.
- Return patient visits for disease surveillance, survivorship and post radiation evaluation.
- Care coordination, including imaging studies and aspects of radiation planning.
- Management of inpatients with acute issues.
- Patient education about the process of radiation care and side effects.
- Management of side effects related to treatment.
- Assessment of nutritional, psychosocial and palliative needs.
- Assisting with patient care if enrolled in clinical trials.
- Participation in regularly scheduled peer review conferences and possibly multi-disciplinary clinics.
- Potential participation in procedures after relevant training.
Work Location: This role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Physician Assistant (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioner (AANP/AANC) Certification.
- Ability to obtain Colorado practice license.
- Ability to obtain prescriptive authority (DEA License).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in the clinical management of radiation oncology patients.
- Experience assessing patients and developing care plans.
- Experience teaching both professional and lay persons formally and informally.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with multiple medical disciplines, patients and families.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with referring physicians, hospital support service personnel, patients, and their families.
- Excellent bedside manner and physical exam skills

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$98,000 to $125,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
