The Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of diagnosis and management of hospitalized patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants should be board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching Penn medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidates should be outstanding clinicians who excel at teaching. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per/year of active and high-quality teaching at the Perelman School of Medicine.
Clinical responsibilities may include care for patients as a GI Hospitalist in the inpatient setting at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and/or Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). The clinical responsibilities will include seeing inpatient consults, performing endoscopic procedures, provide teaching to learners, including medical students, residents and fellows.
Selected applicants will join a highly interactive and exciting multidisciplinary academic and clinical environment at the University of Pennsylvania as integral members of the Division of Gastroenterology and will have opportunities to teach the GI fellowship and internal medicine residency programs at the Perelman School of Medicine.
